Auf dem SAP Campus München Garching, einem Neubau der Science City Garching, setzt die Wandskulptur einen bewussten Akzent im Ankommen. Oberhalb der Haupttreppe, unmittelbar am Eingang, wird sie zum klaren Bezugspunkt des Foyers und zu einem identitätsstiftenden Zeichen für die Kooperation von SAP und Technischer Universität München.
Als hybrides Objekt verbindet die Arbeit eine hölzerne, architekturverwandte Form mit einer digitalen Projektion. Die Skulptur wurde aus Material- und Formprinzipien des Innenausbaus abgeleitet und mithilfe eines eigens entwickelten Algorithmus in einem mathematischen Prozess zu einer prägnanten Gestalt verdichtet. Dabei wurden architektonische Leitmotive nicht einfach übernommen, sondern in Regeln, Relationen und Wiederholungen übersetzt, sodass die Form selbst ein digitales Ordnungsprinzip sichtbar macht: Sie reagiert auf die Sprache des Gebäudes und legt zugleich die Logik von Struktur, Variation und System offen, die dem Thema Digitalität zugrunde liegt. Das Holz bringt dabei eine warme, körperliche Präsenz in den Raum.
Über Hochleistungsprojektoren wird ein digitales Bild präzise auf die Oberfläche gemappt. Eine virtuelle Lichtführung zeichnet die Konturen und Bewegungen der Form nach und entwickelt ein ruhiges, zyklisches Narrativ, ergänzt durch abstrahierte Bildräume und Farbklänge aus dem Interieur. So entsteht eine Inszenierung, in der Architektur, Material und Licht zu einer zurückhaltenden, doch deutlichen Raumerfahrung zusammenfinden.appt. Eine virtuelle Lichtführung, die den Körper umkreist und durchdringt, bildet ein ruhiges, zyklisches Narrativ. Eingewobene, assoziative Bildräume reflektieren das thematische Feld des Ortes in abstrakter Form. Farbigkeit und Materialanklänge aus dem Innenraum schließen die Arbeit zu einem sensiblen, raumprägenden Ensemble.
Unter dem Begriff Remixing Architecture verstehen wir eine Haltung, in der architektonische Merkmale nicht zitiert, sondern in neue Sinn- und Formzusammenhänge überführt werden. In dieser Skulptur remixt sich die Architektur gewissermaßen selbst: als dynamisches Objekt, das Material, Form und Licht zu einer zurückhaltenden, aber eindrücklichen Präsenz bündelt.

At the SAP Campus in Munich Garching, a new building within Science City Garching, the wall sculpture sets a deliberate accent in the moment of arrival. Positioned above the main staircase, directly by the entrance, it becomes a clear point of reference for the foyer and an identity-forming sign of the collaboration between SAP and the Technical University of Munich.
Conceived as a hybrid object, the work combines a timber form closely related to the architecture with a digital projection. Derived from the material and formal principles of the interior fit-out, the sculpture was condensed into a distinctive figure through a mathematical process using a custom-developed algorithm. Architectural motifs were not simply adopted, but translated into rules, relations, and repetitions, so that the form itself makes a digital ordering principle visible: it responds to the language of the building while revealing the underlying logic of structure, variation, and system that is central to the theme of digitality. The wood brings a warm, physical presence to the space.
High-performance projectors precisely map a digital image onto the surface. A virtual light choreography traces the contours and movements of the form, unfolding a calm, cyclical narrative, complemented by abstracted image worlds and colour echoes drawn from the interior. The result is an installation in which architecture, material, and light converge into a restrained yet unmistakable spatial experience.
Under the term Remixing Architecture, we describe an approach in which architectural characteristics are not quoted, but translated into new contexts of meaning and form. In this sculpture, the architecture effectively remixes itself: as a dynamic object that condenses material, form, and light into a restrained yet distinctive presence.
