Das Sydney Opera House ist ein weltweit bekanntes architektonisches Juwel. Für VIVID SYDNEY 2012 konnten wir dem unglaublichen Baukonzept des Architekten Jørn Utzon unseren Tribut zollen. Unsere audiovisuelle Hommage stimmten wir auf die markante Form des Gebäudes ab, die auf ganz natürliche Weise die Wellen von Sydneys Hafen widerzuspiegeln scheint.
Das Sydney Opera House prägt seit Jahrzehnten die Silhouette des Sydney Harbour. Auf dem Bennelong Point gelegen, wirkt der Bau wie eine große, begehbare Skulptur am Wasser: Mehrere ineinandergreifende, gewölbte „Schalen“ bilden das markante Dach und überspannen die zentralen Säle des Hauses. Für VIVID SYDNEY 2012 diente uns diese Architektur als Ausgangspunkt für eine audiovisuelle Arbeit, die Form, Rhythmus und gestalterische Idee des Gebäudes aufnimmt und digital zu einer eigenständigen Erzählung weiterentwickelt. Die Komposition orientiert sich an der Geometrie der Dachschalen, entwirft daraus neue Bildfolgen und übersetzt konzeptionelle Aspekte der Architektur in eine poetische Narration.
//ENG: The Sydney Opera House is a world-renowned architectural masterpiece. For VIVID SYDNEY 2012, we had the opportunity to pay tribute to the extraordinary design concept of architect Jørn Utzon. We tailored our audiovisual homage to the building’s striking form, whose silhouette seems to echo the waves of Sydney Harbour in a natural way.
For decades, the Sydney Opera House has defined the skyline of Sydney Harbour. Located on Bennelong Point, the building resembles a large, walkable sculpture on the water: several interlocking, vaulted “shells” form its iconic roof and span the venue’s central halls.
For VIVID SYDNEY 2012, this architecture served as the starting point for an audiovisual work that picks up on the building’s form, rhythm, and design concept, and develops them digitally into an independent narrative. The composition follows the geometry of the roof shells, creating new visual sequences and translating conceptual aspects of the architecture into a poetic narrative.
